The season is around the corner...

The Point To Point season is getting closer, yes we've been saying this for months...But now it's actually a reality. The season opener at Cottenham is next weekend and we couldn't be anymore excited.

As far as the Jump On Board team, we go to war with three very interesting horses, three very different horses.

The team is lead by out flag bearer, KNOCKADERRY FLYER, he had a great campaign last season and was targeted at some very tough races. He ran with credit every time. This season we are going to target 'Derry' at conditions races and open races. He'll no doubt be back at Larkhill, a track he ran very well at last season. He has a lovely group of enthusiastic owners that can't wait for some great days out.

CLOUDY JOKER came to Max's late last season, he had a spring campaign which ended at Stratford on hunter chase night in the 'Skinners Lady's Open'. Max had 6 weeks to get Cloudy Joker fit for his first run. Cloudy went to Cold Harbour at the start of May after a break from racing that has lasted over 1000 days! One of Cloudy's owners, Hannah Ashton had done an amazing job getting Cloudy back to full health and into training. Max had also worked miracles getting the horse so fit in such little time and he ran a great race to come 2nd, beaten 2 lengths. He was then extremely impressive at Tabley and went on to win by 8 lengths after a positive ride by Izzie Marshall. At Stratford, Cloudy was running the race of his life in the valuable hunter chase before unseating Izzie at the final fence. Frustrating, however it showed us that he retains all of his ability and will be competitive in hunter chases this season.

The newest recruit to the team is BITOFBLINDING. I picked him up from the Goffs Doncaster sales in May. He had the summer off to strengthen and is now back in full training. He has been working very well at home and Max has issued many positive updates about him. He is currently learning to jump fences and should be on a racecourse before xmas. He has lots of time and has an exciting future in point to points.

On Sunday last week, James King was in to school the horses. Below you can watch what he had to say about Cloudy Joker ahead of this season, as well as watch some clips of him schooling.
